The second Standard of Practice for International School Principals is "Model the skills and attitudes of global citizenship, antiracism and intercultural sensitivity and proactivity." Modeling the process and products achieved in student learning is my passion, but modeling must go beyond simple skills and techniques. True leaders model the dispositions and we foster in our students: global citizenship, anti racism, inter cultural understandings. I do this in very simple terms by practicing what I preach.

In the photos below you can see how in October 2024, along with a handful of educators at ISU, we gave up our weekend to pickup trash deposited by the flooding in the Ger District (the slums) of Ulaanbaatar.

The photo of me with a questionable mustache is from November 2024. Every year I grow out a mustache to participate in Movember Not only does this help raise money and awareness for men's health issues, but also helps model student-led service as action.

Lastly, you can see me with a model toy (based on a kindergarten student's drawing) I created to help demonstrate how design students could engage with their local communities by bringing student young PYP students' creative ideas to life.
