Share relevant research and models inquiry, to improve teacher practice and student learning

The fifth standard of practice for international teachers is to: "Share relevant research and models systematic inquiry, to improve teacher practice and student learning."

As a life long learning, I am constantly reading and sharing articles and videos with my colleagues. From a more formal structured stand-point, I frequently volunteer to share relevant research and model inquiry through mini staff workshops. On my resume, you will find many examples of the workshops I have run. However, below is one clear example of research supported practice of explicitly teaching reading strategies. For MYP teachers, this practice would also serve to explicitly teach Approaches to Learning Skills.
